Are you pregnant and considering adoption?

If you are a birth mother who is currently struggling with an unplanned pregnancy, you may be feeling lost, alone and confused. You may have unanswered questions and wish you had some non-judgmental support.

We have been helping birth mothers since 1975 and would be happy to welcome you into our Ohana.

We can provide you with immediate support and quick answers to your questions.

• If you are unsure whether or not adoption is the right choice for you, calling us might be a good first step. It’s possible you may decide to keep your child. You will be encouraged to take your time and work with us to find the right solution to your situation. If you feel an urgency to move ahead we will honor your requests. The bottom line is that to place a child for adoption is a very personal decision which will be with you forever. Our job is to help you in any way we can.
• You will be given your own experienced counselor who will be available to you 7 days a week.
• We understand the importance of confidentiality.
• We provide private attorney’s to counsel and advise you of your rights.
• Whether you are considering open, closed, or a unique type of adoption experience, we can find a waiting family who is right for you and your child.
• Support can be arranged if you find you are having difficulty getting by as a result of your pregnancy.
• Our counseling services will be available to you before, and after your pregnancy.

Parents Wishing to Adopt

If you are considering adopting a child and would like to be added to the HIC Domestic Adoption Waitlist, we would be happy to take your name. Due to the nature of domestic placements, we cannot guarantee when or if we will be able to match you with a child. For this reason, if you are eager to adopt soon, we encourage you to look at other options as well.

There is no cost to sign up with us for our Domestic Adoption Waitlist and we will be in touch when we have a potential match for you.

Steps:

1. Send back the information packet request and we will forward you our Domestic Adoption Info Packet
2. Sign up with HIC’s Domestic Adoption Program, paying no fees now
3. Move ahead to complete a home study

HIC has a long history of providing excellent and ethical adoption service. Because we understand the importance of transparency in the adoption process, we wish to ensure that you fully understand how this program is run. We do not guarantee that you will be placed with a child if you sign up for our Domestic Adoption Program. We encourage you to look at other domestic adoption options if your intent is to adopt domestically. We are happy to add your name to our list of waiting parents. We encourage you to send us an electronic Dear Birth Mother letter and photos. We encourage you to complete a home study in the event a match is made and you have to move quickly to adopt. At this time we suggest that this program is best for Hawaii residents only. Please feel free to contact us if you would like more information.
